It's not pretentious
I like running. I like seeing people run and I like running myself - running is the opposite of being still.
Martin Creed's Tate Britain artwork shows sprinting runners. One could quibble with the word 'sprinting': doing a short interval over and over again isn't really sprinting - it's just running fast.
He denied the work is pretentious: "It's literally not pretentious because they are not pretending to run. They really are running."
Surprisingly, their art critic like it.

Funnily enough, I saw this on Sky Sports news yesterday. I quite enjoyed it - at least it was something different. What do people expect when they go to the Tate Modern anyway?
And yes, they did look pretty fast.
First it's the olympics, now this. Can we suggest or organise a similar 'happening' in the National Musuem of Wales ? Too much good stuff is going to London at the moment - we need to keep Cardiff on the map. There are also a number of 'well known artists' in our club...

PS On the subject of exhibitions, my knees are shortly to be the subject of a retrospective at the Imperial War Museum. Just waiting for the formaldehyde to arrive.
